Christmas 2010

Since a picture's worth a thousand words, here's a few. (or several)

I was tired and cold. It was a little too early for me.

Isaac just liked eating the wrapping paper.

Yep, I gave him this. I did good, didn't I?

Okay, so maybe Isaac liked this toy. It's one of those ones when you open up the box and it comes in a million pieces. Took half the day just to assemble it.

Our poor family room sure took a beating.

Anyways, we had a fun Christmas. I think that everybody ended up satisfied. (Even Amanda, who didn't get her $400 Barbie Jeep.)  Our ever-growing stack of wii games and movies is a little bit higher. Speaking of which, I have a new favorite movie. A new favorite favorite movie. Mamma Mia. I watched it on Monday, Tuesday, three times Wednesday, and once today. Not to mention I woke up to "The Winner Takes it All" as my alarm this morning. Obsessed much? Mamma Mia just gives all of the Abba songs a new meaning. The singers on the movie aren't half as good, but they sing it with emotion that you can see. My favorite part is when "Donna" is singing "The Winner Takes it All" to "Sam" just before the wedding. It gives me the chills. (lame, huh?)

Anyways, it's kind of my guilty pleasure that takes up my whole day and I don't get anything done. Especially those math word problems that have been sitting untouched in my backpack all of Christmas break. I don't even remember how to do them. I guess I can worry about that on Sunday at 10:00 at night. (That's another thing- I haven't been going to bed until at least midnight the past few days. I just have so much more I could be doing. Sometimes it is just useless stuff though. Last night I watched a movie (any guesses on which one?), and did an entire puzzle before I went to bed.)

Alright well, that's long enough. Now I should probably go mingle with the family that's over at my house. I'm kind of being anti-social. I've just gotten WAY sick of gatherings lately. It's just the time of year. By January I'm always sick of them.

TTFN, as Tigger would say it :)

Mmmm... I think that I'm in heaven

Alright, this is my totally favorite scrumdidliumptious dessert. Amy made me fall in love. And now I can't get enough. My mother made it tonight, and I can't wait to eat some. It's seriously like heaven on earth... (or as Amanda says, "earth on heaben") Right now I'm supposed to be doing homework. btw: WHO INVENTED HOMEWORK?!?!?!?? I mean seriously, we're already at school seven hours a day, why do we need to do more at home? I should write a petition. hee hee Not to mention that it's Monday, and there's four more days until the weekend. UGGHH!! But as for right now, with pistachio dessert waiting in the fridge, I think that I'm in heaven.

PS: Any book recomendations? I've long since finished the Harry Potters again, and I'm running out of good books.

Hello again...

Wow so I know I'm writing for the first time in a while... (a rather long while) haha but I've decided that I'm going to start back up again... for the 3 or 4 people that read this, or just for myself. Here are a few things that have happened since I've been away...

1. Well we had a baby. That's definitely a biggie... Isaac Palmer Barton was born August 1, 2010. He weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. He's so cute... we've even caught him smiling in his sleep a few times :-) It I guess is a little teensy bit of a bittersweet if you know what I mean, because it makes us remember how Sage was when she was a baby. And it makes us miss her a lot. The change, however, is definitely more sweet than bitter. He's such a blessing and we love him so much!!

2. School started. that one's way bittersweet. Closer to bitter, actually. A few months before, a bunch of friends and me made tons of flowers to share around for school. Like literally tons. Actually I think there are exactly 54. Now nobody needs 54 different flowers for school. Not even if they're being shared by five people, But they're so cute. I guess that's the only good thing about school. Having so many friends around. Don't get me wrong, school can be fun sometimes, but boring most of the time.
3. Soccer. I've been playing on a co-ed team and it's been way fun. It was definitely a great choice for me because I'm liking it way better than I liked soccer when playing on a more competitive team. The only stinkish thing about it: grey jerseys. All of the other teams are orange, red, blue, lime green, neon yellow, so on and so forth... and we got grey. grey. hmm... how does that work? I guess it's not too bad. Grey looks more professional.. hee hee
4. I would now classify myself as a "wicked awesome pianist if I do say so myself." Seriously I just learned this devilishly hard song by Jon Schmidt called "All of Me". Look it up if you don't believe me. Hardest song I've ever learned. And it's done. (yes!)
okay well that's a pretty good update on things.. hopefully I'll do better this time and remember to update more... bye!!
ps. my aunt Amy took that pic of Isaac. Probably should let you know that :)

Harry Potter

So I am way excited... part I of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out in November!! I know that that's not for a while, but I'm okay with that because I am re-reading all of the Harry Potter books before then. I have read 1 & 2 again already, and am about 70 pages into the third. Before the movie comes out, my friends and I are also going to have a marathon and watch all of the movies that are out so far, and then go to the MIDNIGHT PREMIER!

SO excited!!!!!

4th of July!

So the fourth of July was FANTASTIC... The day started off with going to the Kaysville parade. We had loads of fun! We then came over to my house, and had pizza & some swimming! We had sloppy joes and hot dogs for dinner, then went to my G-grandpa's house for FIREWORKS & PACE BARS!
We really had a blast! I love the 4th of July!
